William Daniel Rhymes went 1 for 3 and scored a run in the Tampa Bay Rays's 3-1 loss at the Cleveland Indians on Thursday. Rhymes graduated from High School.
Rhymes is a 2002 graduate of Lamar High School who played three seasons (2003 to 2005) of college baseball at William and Mary. He was selected in the 27th round (810th overall) of the 2005 Major League Baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers. He quickly advanced through the Detroit system making it to triple-A Toledo of the International League by the end of 2008, his third full pro season. Rhymes made his Major League debut on July 25, 2010 with Detroit and appeared in 54 games that season for the Tigers batting .304. Rhymes was born April 1, 1983 in Houston.
