'Out on a Limb' exhibit brings forest indoors at Children's Museum
published Jun. 22, 2011
The new "Out on a Limb -- Adventures with Nature and Art" exhibit is open at the Children's Museum of Houston until Sunday, Sept. 18.
The exhibit encourages visitors to hear the sounds of the forest, use leaves to make art, and build big and little structures from bark and limbs through the individual exhibits, "Whirlwind," "Light Play," "Forest Jam" and "Gnome Home."
Individual activities for visitors include experimenting with light and shadow, noticing patterns of leaves, listening to music of the forest and witnessing the effects of the changing seasons, among others. The exhibits also provide practice with the physical skills of climbing and balancing.
The Children's Museum of Houston is located at 1500 Binz.
