Children’s Museum to hold ‘Olympic-Sized Summer’

The Children’s Museum of Houston’s 2012 Summer of Fun will celebrate the 2012 Summer Olympics.

“Olympic-Sized Summer” will take place from Thursday, July 26 to Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the museum, 1500 Binz.

Activities include Olympic skill challenges, games, foil medal-making, Olympic rings and Olympic Torch design stations.

“Hippity Hop Races” are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1-3 p.m. on Sunday. An Olympic Decathlon will happen every day from 3-5 p.m. at the Concrete Jungle.

The Children’s Museum of Houston is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday every day during the summer. General admission is $9 and $8 for seniors 65 and older. Children under 1 get in free.

The museum is free from 5-8 p.m. every Thursday.
