Museum of Fine Arts announces fall film schedule
The Museum of Fine Arts has published its fall film schedule.
MFAH will be offering the series titled Movies Houstonians Love, beginning with Meredith Long’s favorite film, "Kind Hearts and Coronets," at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, Alexandra Knight’s favorite film, "Bill Cunningham New York," at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24 and Mary Lampe’s favorite film, "Wings of Desire, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7. Films to be premiered at the museum include "World on a Wire" at 7 p.m. on Oct. 7, 7 p.m. on Oct. 8 and 5 p.m. on Oct. 9. The museum will also be premiering the film "Socialisme" at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14, 7 p.m. on Oct. 15 and 5 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the Freed Autitorium, "One Lucky Elephant" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 and "Being Elmo," which will be showing at 4 p.m. on Dec. 27 through Dec. 30 and at 1 p.m. on Dec. 31. The Radical Light series will take place on Sunday, Nov. 20. Movies screened will include "Procession of the Image Processors" at 2 p.m. and "Landscape as Expression" at 5 p.m. The Ghostly Apparitions series includes "Kuroneko" at 8 p.m. on Oct. 28, "The Strange Case of Angelica," at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 30 and "Kuroneko" again at 9 p.m. on Oct. 29 and at 5 p.m. on Oct. 30. Spotlight on the World: Italy will feature "Double Hour," at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, "Le quattro volte" at 1 p.m. on Oct. 22, "Salt of Life" at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22, "Double Hour" at 5 p.m. on Oct. 23 and "Le quattro volte," at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23. Spotlight of the World: Korea will feature "The Housemaid" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 4, "The Day He Arrives" at 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 4, "Finding Mr. Destiny" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5 and "Secret Sunshine" at 5 p.m. on Nov. 6. Spotlight of the World: Taiwan will feature "Juliets" at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2, "Tears" at 7 p.m. on Dec. 3, and "The Fourth Portrait" at 6 p.m. on Dec. 4. Films shown during the Cinema Arts Festival Houston include "Artful Thursday: An Evening with Lynn Hershman Leeson" at 6:30 p.m. and "W.A.R." at 8 p.m. on Nov. 10. Films will run throughout the week. Check with the museum for titles and times. "The Man Who Fell to Earth" will be revived at 7 p.m. on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26 and at 5 p.m. on Nov. 27. The series Rohmer X 2 will feature "Four Adventures of Reinette and Mirabelle" at 7 p.m. on Dec. 10 and 5 p.m. on Dec. 11, as well as "Le Rayon Vert" at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 5 p.m. on Dec. 10.
