'Pirate' cops to hold car wash, raise funds for Special Olympics
Officers with the Houston Police Department will once again go undercover as pirates for Special Olympics Texas.
Beginning Saturday, Oct. 1, through the entire month of October, every driver who buys a $10 carwash at CARisma, 5203 Kirby Drive, and inputs the code “3333” will donate $4 to Special Olympics Texas.
The month-long effort will culminate in HPD officers, dressed in pirate costumes, raiding the carwash on Saturday, Oct. 29. The day-long event will feature officers and volunteers greeting customers and giving away items.
At 8 p.m. the carwash will close and a child-friendly pirate adventure will be held. The event will be free, but donations to Special Olympics Texas will be accepted.
