West University Elementary PTO encourages parents to participate in fundraising efforts
The West University Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization is encouraging parents to participate in various fundraising efforts that will benefit the school.
According to a press release, parents can support the school by collecting box tops and adding the school's information to specific stores so that a portion of purchases will go toward the school.
Parents can cut box tops, found on General Mills, Ziploc and Kleenex products, and give them to their children's teacher or the front office staff at the school, located at 3756 University Blvd., Houston. The amount and expiration date must be visible on all labels. Each box top received will earn the school 10 cents. For more information about Box Tops for Education, visit www.boxtops4education.com.
Parents who participate in Randall's Good Neighbor Program and shop at Target, Pottery Barn and Office Depot will also earn money for the school.
One percent of purchases made with a Remarkable card at Randall's Good Neighborhood Program will go to the school. Parents can visit Randall's courtesy desk to update their information with West University's PTO charity number 1183.
One percent of purchases made with a Target Red Card at Target and 0.5 percent of purchases made with a Target Visa card at any store will go to the school. Parents can link their Target Red Card to West University Elementary by visiting http://www-secure.target.com/redcard and using the school number 98800.
The school will receive up to 4 percent back on annual net sales of gear merchandise such as backpacks, lunch boxes and duffle bags at Pottery Barn. For online and retail purchases, parents can use Member ID 411060136779 and password WS9138507. For more information, visit www.potterybarnkids.com/gearuptogiveback.
The school will also receive 5 percent of purchases made at Office Depot to be used towards school supplies. Parents can use the school number 70097669 when they make purchases.
Additionally, companies such as BP, ExxonMobil, GE and Chevron may match donations of employees that are PTO members. If this is so, parents can contact Michele Nezi Marvin of VP fundraising, at michelenezimarvin@gmail.com.
