Amazing Spaces Storage Center donates funds to support Shriners Hospitals for Children
The Make a Difference Donation Campaign, launched by the Texas Self Storage Association, raised $959 for the Shriners Hospitals For Children in Galveston.
The amount was matched by Amazing Spaces Storage Center, which has locations in Spring, The Woodlands and West U. The total amount of money raised was $1,918.
The TSSA started the campaign in 2001 and asks customers to donate money. Amazing Spaces joined in on the effort in 2004 and more than $350,000 had been raised through 2011.
"We are always so excited each to help this wonderful charity that has been providing a wonderful service to children in our area since 1960," Kathy Tautenhahn, vice president of Amazing Spaces, stated in a release.
The Make A Difference Campaign started in September and ended in October with a convention in San Antonio that featured a charity poker tournament, live auction and silent auction.
The Shriners Hospital for Children has 22 hospitals in its health care system and provides pediatric specialty care, innovative research and teaching programs for medical professionals.
Children up to the age of 18 are eligible for care at the hospitals regardless of the ability of their families to pay.
