ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Ian Overman
Q: Who is your favorite athlete?
A: Probably Galen Rupp, just because he’s a young athlete who has been breaking records his whole life. Even though he got second in the (2012 Olympic) 10K behind his training partner, he was still happy for him and grateful to perform as he did.
Q: Who inspires you the most?
A: Our new assistant coach, Michael Tisza. He just moved down here this past summer, and he’s been volunteering his time to help train our team. He’s a young guy, really good runner, and he’s really good at encouraging us.
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
A: I have to calm myself down. I don’t really do much, but I walk around and jog. I don’t really listen to music or talk to people. I go off and warm up on my own.
