West U athletes in action: Men's basketball

The following men's basketball players, both with West U high school ties, have scheduled action this week:

Josh Bonney, Elon University
Position: Guard
High school: Houston Lamar High School
This week: Saturday, Dec. 15, at University of Massachusetts, Amherst
About Bonney: Bonney played high school basketball at Lamar for coach Dennis Gillespie from 2004-2008. He was a first-team all-district, all-city and All-Region III honoree while also being chosen to play in the 2008 HABCA All-Star game. Bonney also led Lamar to the 5-A State Championship Regional Semifinal. He is the son of Jerry (former Parade All-American) and Rose Bonney.

Jarvis Craft, Miami Dade College
Position: Guard
High school: Houston Lamar High School
This week: Friday, Dec. 14, versus Pasco-Hernando Community College
About Craft: Craft is a freshman guard for Miami Dade College. The Houston native is a 2012 graduate of Lamar High School.
